An add on...
Oh, and Alida continues to grow and progress. :)
She has taken to saying "uh oh" whenever she drops something, though she'll say it when provoked too.
Still no teeth yet, though. :(

A new start
Today was our second full day in our new apartment.
It is still kind of stressful trying to move in. The downstairs looks FABULOUS. It's clean and decorated and pretty.
The upstairs (with the exception of the hallway and Alida's room)... not so much.
It is now 11:33pm and our bedroom and the spare/computer room are full of all the boxes that I haven't had a chance to unpack yet and the bathroom could do with a good organizing.
Alida's first birthday was this past monday... the 14th. I have pictures to post, hopefully tomorrow, but not until Anthony lends me his SD card adapter... this is also providing that Best Buy doesn't have to keep our computer when we take it in tomorrow to find out why the sound won't work.
It hasn't worked for about a week now and we can't figure out why. It won't work whether there are headphones plugged in or not. Tomorrow, we're hoping to have the mystery solved.
We also have a good, stable connection now, so you should be seeing more entries from me from now on.

Awareness
Ok, so first of all, I am well aware of how long it's been since my last post. The past several weeks, it's been REALLY hard to get a reliable internet connection. It just hasn't been working properly.
Any time I do get a connection, I only have it for a few minutes and that's not nearly long enough to do anything of consequence.
Additionally, I've been kind of lazy and haven't yet emptied the many pictures I've taken onto the compy, which means that as of this moment, I don't have any new pictures to post.
I will, however, have pictures to post soon.
Also, as of right now, it is officially July 14th, which means it is OFFICIALLY Alida's 1st birthday!!!
You can bet I'm going to have some first birthday pictures soon!
For now, it's 1:26am and I'm going to go to sleep now. I am tired of fighting this connection.

Dancing Queen
Alida has begun doing the cutest thing!
She stands in one place and spins in a circle!!! (like she's dancing!)
She started doing it on Sunday at church! I'd never seen her do it before.

An update
So, with Alida's birthday just under 3 weeks away, I still don't know where we're going to have it! Anthony and I have been hoping for an apartment in Spanish Fork and we're hoping and praying we get it! If we get the apartment, I'd like to have the party there, but if we don't, I'm thinking it'll probably just be at the Spanish Fork Library Park... weather permitting.
Anthony, Alida and I are doing fine. Anthony and I are finally getting over our colds and hoping Alida didn't catch it. Her nose has been a little runny, but nothing we're too worried about.
Yesterday I got to cut my brother, Blake's hair. It hadn't been cut for a year or more and it was getting REALLY long! He wouldn't normally have cut it, but was offered $50 if he did... so he let me cut it! It was REALLY FUN!!!!
I have been working on a surprise for my brother, JayDee who will be home from South Dakota in just a couple of months... but I'm not going to say what the surprise is, just incase JayDee reads my blog!!! (*raspberries JayDee*)
Other than that, I really can't think of much else to report on. It has been a really uneventful couple of weeks.

Just a head's up
There is just one month left until Alida's first birthday!
Invitations to her birthday party will be going out in the mail soon, but I wanted to post a quick notice now just to give everyone a heads up!
I know you may not be able to read the text very well... so lemme just point out... it'll be on her birthday (july 14) at 7pm...but we're not sure where yet. We'll put the place on the invitations we mail out! (location is TBA pending a decision by someone else *wink wink*!)

Family Fun
A little over a week ago, Anthony, Alida and I went to visit my sister Michelle and their new baby, Daphne Laurel, in North Salt Lake. While we were up there, Anthony and I decided to walk around Temple Square for a little while, since we never get to go up there as a family! This wasn't our first time going to visit the Sheets in N.S.L. but we always tend to leave their house late and don't have a chance to wander Temple Square, so this was Alida's first time ever at Temple Square. The sister missionaries and older couple missionaries loved Alida and Alida was REALLY talkative!
We went on EVERY tour that we could go on! We saw the Tabernacle, the Conference Center (which, surprisingly, Anthony had never been inside of), the 2 visitor's centers, the original church (that sits in the southwest corner of temple square) and the Beehive house! It was WAY fun!
Next time we go, we'll have to top the day off with dinner at the Lion House!!! (instead of the mall! lol)

The Chase
Now the chase is on!
Alida is all over the place these days and there's no stopping her!
She has discovered the joy of running, not just walking any more, Running!
Any time we open a door or leave the stairs un-blocked, she books it for the opening and will get into things she shouldn't or she'll climb up the stairs and be half-way through the living room upstairs before we even realize she's gone up. She's still not used to walking with shoes on, but when her shoes are on, she's usually in the stroller.
We put her little inflatable pool downstairs and put blankets in it. She lays in it when she has a bottle and plays in it the rest of the time. She loves having it! We also got her a larger pack of swim diapers, so she and I can go over to Lana's more often and go swimming with her!!! (because of the danger of bacteria, the rule is un-potty-trained children must wear swim diapers or 2 diapers when swimming in pools used by other people.
We are planning a camping trip with some friends for this August and I don't think it's gone very far yet... but we still have a couple of months to get it all planned! lol
The Spa/Salon is set to open in just a couple of weeks, and I'm helping everywhere I can. For Anthony, the reality of being able to quit Macey's soon is getting stronger! He is so excited to be able to sleep at night and be awake during the day! He is also excited to get to be with Alida all day! He's such a cute daddy!
Yesterday, we went to a bbq at my Grandma June's house and got to see Michelle and Brian's new baby, Daphne! She's so beautiful!
It was also a bbq to celebrate JayDee's graduation from high school and his going to South Dakota for the summer to work as a staff member at a scout camp. It was fun to see so much family together!
Blake and I weeded mom's lilac bushes the other day. It was amazing, the difference it made. There are also peonies and irises in the little corner of "garden" we weeded. We kept as many of the irises and peonies as we could, unfortunately most of the peonies were so mixed in with a large bunch of weeds, that most of them had to be sacrificed. We managed to save the 3 biggest shoots of them. Hopefully, mom will keep up with the weeding and keep it looking nice.

Summer Fun
Anthony & I found Alida's little green swimming suit that was given to us by a friend and bought her a little inflatable pool to play in this summer. We let her play in it after lunch today. She loved the water! She kept putting her mouth in the water and either trying to drink it or she'd blow bubbles in it! She also had a ton of fun playing catch with mommy with the beach ball! She kept throwing it out of the pool for me to retrieve and give back to her.

A bit of a gripe...
So, I have been feeling SO SICK today! It's no fun. I'm not sure why. My stomach just isn't agreeing with me. I haven't really wanted to eat anything for fear of it coming back up... so on top of not feeling well, I've got low blood sugar. :(
I am UBER excited for Michelle and Brian who are going in tomorrow afternoon (about 3pm) for Michelle to be induced! They'll be parents in just a matter of hours now! *throws confetti*
Anthony has been asleep on the couch since before 5pm (it's now 11:21pm). I have tried to send him to bed, but he won't go. Alida went to bed around 9:20pm.
She's been sleeping really well lately. Last night, Alida slept in the bed with me. Alida and I were the only ones here since Anthony had to work and the rest of the fam were in Idaho.
It sucks that we couldn't be up there with them this weekend. We were looking forward to it, but I haven't really felt like doing much today. I forced myself to cook for and feed Alida and Anthony. I ate a little bit, but then I noticed that the house was kind of messy... I sat downstairs for a little bit, but couldn't sit still because the mess was bothering me, so I forced through the sick feeling as long as I could and got the downstairs living room, upstairs living room and part of the kitchen clean. :) That just made me even sicker, but it's done now... so I've stopped worrying about it.
I am sitting in a chair now, not wanting to go to bed because I don't feel well, and I know I need to eat, but I don't have enough energy to go upstairs and make me anything.
Ok, well, I'm done griping now. I'll say my ados and hope that Anthony will wake up long enough to help me get something to eat!

So, I was just looking through some pictures taken of Alida a few days ago and this picture of her REALLY caught my eye. Take a look...
Never mind the Oreo face (though it's ADORABLE!)... look at her eyes! Doesn't Alida have BEAUTIFUL eyes?!?!! It amazes even me!!! I mean, I know our daughter is beautiful, but her eyes are stunning!!!

Excitement
For those of you who don't know,
I recently got a job as the Manager of a spa here in Spanish Fork that is set to Open in Mid June! I have been helping the owner get things ready for the opening.
There is going to be a soft opening for friends and family and then we'll have the grand opening!
There'll be more information to come!

Another Week
Well, it's Tuesday, Anthony's day off, and like always... He's asleep on the couch!
Alida is playing with her toys and watching the Muppet Show (she's hooked on it!)... ok, she's not playing with her toys, she's pushing the toy bin around the floor! lol
Now she's working on emptying it!
She's getting really good at walking! I also think she's starting to get teeth. She had a little bit of a fever on Saturday, Diarrhea on Monday, and she's been chewing on everything she can get her hands on... including her hands!
Yesterday, Alida and I went for a really nice quiet walk around the neighborhood. I love this side of Spanish Fork! It's so peaceful! The weather has been so clear and warm too. It's an absolute joy! The sound of the crickets chirping in the fields, the wind whispering in the trees, the rushing of the water in the irrigation ditch that comes down from the canyon and the song of the birds made for a wonderful evening! It was music to my ears!

Baby Shower
Hello and happy Sunday! ^_^
Yesterday, I threw a baby shower for Michelle my Belle (my sister). It was held at the Benjamin Park.
Thanks to everyone that showed up!!! *throws confetti*
It was great! Anthony, Alida and I got to the park a couple hours early so I could set up. I used fresh flowers as decorations. We had a table set up with scrapbooking supplies so everyone that wanted to, could create their own pages for the parents-to-be. There were some WAY CUTE pages! They are all going in a baby book for the new baby! (it's a girl, BTW)
We only had one game, but that was mostly because I didn't want to play all of the games that you USUALLY play at baby showers... like baby bingo... or the candy bar game.... I wanted fun games. Unfortunately Anthony, who left as people started arriving, took my list of games and I could only remember the one.
We had a waddling race!!! You stick a balloon between your legs and waddle from point A to point B. First one done without dropping their balloon, wins! Lots of people played it wrong, but it's my fault... I didn't really explain the rules too well. Oh well. It was LOTS of fun!

We ate Hawaiian Haystacks. Yummy!

Smooth, with a capital SMOO!!!
Life is crazy right now! I got a job a couple of weeks ago. I am the spa manager at a spa here in town! We are planning to open in mid June and there is so much to do!!!
Alida is now OFFICIALLY 10 months old! She is such a super chunk!!! ^_^
She walks when she wants to, but for now, it's still much quicker for her to crawl. Anthony and I bought her a monkey leash so she can play on the floor and not get away!!! (it comes in handy!)
I am throwing a baby shower for my sister this Saturday and I am SO FRAZZLED about it!!! I have had so much on my mind lately and I am trying to get so much done in such a short amount of time!
Anthony is being an absolute sweetheart though! He didn't give me a hard time tonight when I explained my absent-mindedness to him. (I did a LOT of stupid things today!!!)
Lemme explain... Josie and I hung out most of the day. She was helping me get some things ready for the shower this weekend. Conner (her son) was slightly cranky during the first bit of our "outing", but we suck with it and went to lunch at Arctic Circle and then went to the dollar store. I didn't know you could spend as much as I did at a DOLLAR STORE!!! Among the things I bought were some mylar balloons. After the dollar store, we needed to go to Walmart but the balloons were in the way, so we took them to Josie's house and left the balloons there and gave Conner to Josie's sister, Mandy.
Part of the plan today was to rent a movie... but we couldn't find one that we could agree on. Any that she wanted to see, I'd already seen or I had no interest in them. Any that I wanted to see, she'd already seen. We finally went to Hollywood Video and rented 1408 and Material Girls, then went back to Josie's house to watch them.
After we'd been at her house for a couple of hours, Josie's husband, Dave, looked out the door for some reason and happened to notice that my trunk was wide open!!! It had been since we got there because I had gotten something out of it!!! I can't believe I left it open!!!
THEN... to make matters worse, when I was getting ready to come home after the movie, I put Alida in the car seat and wrapped the balloon ribbons around the door handle (inside the car), then closed the door and got in myself. As I was driving home, Alida was playing with the balloons. I could see her doing it in my rear view mirror. I didn't think anything of it, until I got home... I opened the back door to get her out, and she was STANDING UP IN THE CAR SEAT!!! I had forgotten to buckle her into the seat when I put her in it!!!
Talk about making myself look like a complete and total IDIOT!!!! I am amazed and SO GLAD that nothing happened to her!
I have been feeling kind of wretched since I got home.... which is why I'm online. I'm attempting to cheer myself up. It's sort of working... but I still feel like a prat.
Oh well.
Now I'm gonna go to sleep. I hope I'll feel better in the morning!

Anthony is being an absolute sweetheart though! He didn't give me a hard time tonight when I explained my absent-mindedness to him. (I did a LOT of stupid things today!!!)
Lemme explain... Josie and I hung out most of the day. She was helping me get some things ready for the shower this weekend. Conner (her son) was slightly cranky during the first bit of our "outing", but we suck with it and went to lunch at Arctic Circle and then went to the dollar store. I didn't know you could spend as much as I did at a DOLLAR STORE!!! Among the things I bought were some mylar balloons. After the dollar store, we needed to go to Walmart but the balloons were in the way, so we took them to Josie's house and left the balloons there and gave Conner to Josie's sister, Mandy.
Part of the plan today was to rent a movie... but we couldn't find one that we could agree on. Any that she wanted to see, I'd already seen or I had no interest in them. Any that I wanted to see, she'd already seen. We finally went to Hollywood Video and rented 1408 and Material Girls, then went back to Josie's house to watch them.
After we'd been at her house for a couple of hours, Josie's husband, Dave, looked out the door for some reason and happened to notice that my trunk was wide open!!! It had been since we got there because I had gotten something out of it!!! I can't believe I left it open!!!
THEN... to make matters worse, when I was getting ready to come home after the movie, I put Alida in the car seat and wrapped the balloon ribbons around the door handle (inside the car), then closed the door and got in myself. As I was driving home, Alida was playing with the balloons. I could see her doing it in my rear view mirror. I didn't think anything of it, until I got home... I opened the back door to get her out, and she was STANDING UP IN THE CAR SEAT!!! I had forgotten to buckle her into the seat when I put her in it!!!
Talk about making myself look like a complete and total IDIOT!!!! I am amazed and SO GLAD that nothing happened to her!
I have been feeling kind of wretched since I got home.... which is why I'm online. I'm attempting to cheer myself up. It's sort of working... but I still feel like a prat.
Oh well.
Now I'm gonna go to sleep. I hope I'll feel better in the morning!
