Fall-ing
We took a trip recently to Trolley Square Mall. I was not impressed, BUT they did have a pottery barn and a Pottery Barn Kids. I fell in love with the stores. Though I can't afford to buy anything, I love the decorating ideas and I got some GREAT ideas of projects I would love to make with Anthony! While we were there, I fell in love with the history of the building and the character it had. I have decided that it would be the PERFECT place to take photos and with the weather getting colder, they have the fireplace and fire pit lit which make great warm places to take photos.<
Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the colors and the sound of the leaves under my feet. I also love using the colors in photos! Alida makes a great subject to take photos of in ALL circumstances, but she was particularly precious playing in the leaves.
I think the ONE thing on my Christmas list this year is a nice new camera. Though I got one for our anniversary this year, it broke in less than 7 months due to a manufacturers defect and we can't get it replaced because we can't find the receipt and for some stupid reason Walmart doesn't keep receipts in their main system. We have to go to the EXACT store we got it at and we have to have EXACT details for them to fine it. ie- The exact date, time and register we got it at. We don't remember 2 out of the 3 details needed. Walmart is making it unnecessarily difficult to get my camera fixed. We are slowly realizing that our best option is to just get a new camera... from a different store, obviously. We're thinking Best Buy.
I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to the holidays. I LOVE Thanksgiving, but I am SO EXCiTED to take down the fall decor and put up the Christmas decorations! Anthony and I have a deal. I can put up all the minor decorations I want, but I can't hang up Christmas lights, play Christmas music OR put up the tree until 2 Saturdays before Christmas OR the 14th of December (whichever comes first.)
Until then, I love occupying myself with photography. It is quickly becoming my favorite hobby! Take a look at my photos on facebook. I'd LOVE to know if people think if I'm any good. :D
Until next time, see you later!
Love from,
Shari Anne

Halloween 2010
Halloween is once again upon us and Alida couldn't be more excited.
She has insisted for about a week that she wants to be Snow White. I was hoping at some point that she would forget this notion and decide that one of her costumes in her closet would be fine. Much do my dismay, she didn't give up the idea and Anthony and I finally caved and got her a snow white costume from Walmart. (granted, I could have made one for less (probably) but it wouldn't have been as cute and I am finding lately that I just don't have the patience lately for little projects that require a lot of attention to detail.
Anthony and I are just going to be recycling costumes that we've already used once before. I am being a "pioneer" and Anthony is being "Bizarro" from Superman. (At least, I THINK that's what he decided on.
Tonight is our ward Halloween party. Tomorrow is OUR Halloween party... and guess what... I haven't done ANYTHING to get ready for either of them. I still need to clean my house (it's looking like a hot mess), plan a menu (it's a potluck party, but I don't know how many guests are coming or what they're bringing... so I have to plan SOMETHING for dinner at least. (I have a dessert planned, but that's it.)
For now, I'm babysitting "Little Sweetheart" and the girls have played princesses, phone (with a little toy phone) and I have been TRYING to get L.S. to go "piddle" in the potty. She says she wants to, but I don't know if she's quite ready.
The girls have been having fun.

Same old story...
I am trying again.
After gaining 15 lbs at the beginning of this year (due to stress, bad eating habits and a job that kept me at a desk all day) I have tried multiple times to lose the added weight. I've NEVER gained weight like that. I've always fluctuated between 2-3 lbs. For the past 4-5 years, I've actually kept my weight VERY steady... until this year.
This past summer, I tried desperately to lose the weight (in a healthy way). I watched what I ate VERY carefully (I ate more fish this summer than I EVER have before) and I worked out regularly every day (except Sundays) for 1-2 hours per day... but alas, not only did I not lose any pounds, but I didn't lose any inches either... which was VERY strange for me.
I went to my doctor a little over a month ago and they checked my thyroid but it was normal, so I am wondering if it was something I did to sabotage myself that I am not aware of.
I have looked into my habits and have found several things that I need to change (for a start, I need to stop being on the computer so much).
I think it's time for me to start building good habits again. I am sick and tired of the extra weight. It only makes me feel like crap.
I am going to try my hardest to get myself back down to the pant size I was when I got married (an 8) OR down to 125 lbs. Whichever comes first. I don't care about having both... but to make things clear, I AM more concerned with the pant size. I have taken the official stance that I don't care if I weight 150 lbs... if it's all muscle and I have a 4 pack and fit into all of my pants, I don't care about the number on the scale.
That being said, I may not stop when I have achieved just one of the goals. If I get down to 125 and I am a size 10, I may keep working until I am a size 8. (again, that being said, I am not going to work myself to starvation. There are some things that I will NEVER be willing to do to be "skinny")
I have goals and I feel that they are very realistic goals. For my height and age, I can be as low as 114 lbs and still be in the healthy range. If that means that I get down to a size 2 at 120 lbs, then so be it. I am not partial to either goal... they are the MINIMUMS. Once reaching one of the 2 goals, however, I am not going to stress myself to keep going.
This is all very hard to explain. The past couple of days, I have struggled with my limited options and had nearly given up on the idea of being healthy until we've moved or our circumstances have improved... but today, I decided that I was not willing to wait. There are things I want to do in life (like play with my daughter and not be tired... and to get my energy back!) and to do those things, I REALLY need to start caring about my health.
Anthony deserves a supermodel wife!!! I want to be the best I can be for him and for our kids!!! They deserve it!
I deserve to be the best me I can be and NO OLD HAG LIVING BELOW ME IS GOING TO COMPLAIN ENOUGH TO STOP ME!!!!
Thank you for your time.

October
Well, it's only the 7th of October, but already I've been keeping myself busy decorating for the coming holiday. I love fall! It has to be my favorite season!
I love the colors, the smells, the decorations, but mostly the food! You can get things now that you usually can't the rest of the year. I also get to decorate with gourds and I get to eat food from a garden well tended (though I admit, it's usually other people's gardens, I still get to eat food from them!).
The weather is cooling down and so is our apartment. It is only about 76 degrees in here right now. (a far cry from the usual 90+ of summer!) It feels wonderful! I've already had to start putting Alida in a jacket to go outside.
Michelle and Brian had their baby and he is adorable. They have run into a snag at the moment though. He has spent the last week, (since he was born pretty much), in Primary Children Medical Center with a lung infection (which has cleared up, thank goodness) and a heart defect which they will have to surgically fix. We don't know when he will go in for that, but hopefully it will be soon. Until he comes home from the hospital, Michelle and Brian spend about 7-8 hours per day at the hospital with him. While they're there, we get to play with their Little Sweetheart at our house. Alida LOVES having her cousin come over to play. They fight every so often, but it's been an all around enjoyable experience. (except for their darling sons predicament, obviously.)
I also rearranged the photos on my walls. Now it looks somewhat organized.
As some of you may know, Lana had been living with us for the past couple of months. Last Sunday she decided to run away and after a couple of days of not knowing where she was, she returned back at our house. Unfortunately, she had slipped back into her previous condition and that night we had to drive her to her parent's house in Spanish Fork so they could take her to Wasatch Mental Hospital and commit her. I don't know how long she will be there, but needless to say, she no longer lives with us.
I am currently trying to put my house back in order since she has left. Alida loves having her room back to normal (it gives her lots of space) and it has made keeping the house clean that much easier with the extra space back.
We recently had some excitement with a mouse as well. I saw it in the evening in our room a couple of weeks ago and it took a couple of days, but we finally caught it! We had been putting peanut butter on the mouse traps (they are attracted to it, for those who don't know.) but the mouse kept taking the PB without setting off the trap, so I put a chocolate chip on it instead and that finally got it! It was living in the pocket of the bathroom door. (it's a sliding pocket door.)
We have also decided that we are throwing our annual Halloween party again this year (we had to miss it last year).
Well, that is all the fun I can think of for now.

Getting ready
So, we've been trying to get ready for a baby shower I'm throwing for Michelle tomorrow. They'll be having a sweet little boy soon.
I know that "tradition" says you have a shower for only the first baby, but I say why not have a shower for EVERY new baby! It helps the parents get ready for the new arrival and it's a chance to celebrate the new baby.
It's been a joy keeping our house clean. I have discovered something wonderful that I have used on my couches, floor and clothes. It has gotten out EVERY stain I have tried it on (so far) and I am loving it! It's called Zote. I used it to spot clean my carpet before using the carpet cleaner over the whole area. It got up ALL of the stains on my floor. Now it looks nearly flawless. (There's a rip in it near the door...)
I'm a little sad lately though. My digital camera broke. There was a malfunction in the lens and it has completely shut down the camera. :(
I still have my old one, so I'll still try to take some pictures of the shower and I'll try to get the new one fixed soon. (I just need a copy of the receipt from the store.) Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I've been embarking on a lot of craft projects lately. There are a few I'm particularly proud of. I'll show them to you at the end of this post.
I love how it's been transforming our apartment! You should try some of your own. I find them to be great stress relievers.
I'd love to hear about some of the crafts you have done! (pics are great too!)

My latest complaint...
is actually a rather silly one.
I want to be crafty. I want to make things. I want to completely redo our apartment... but I can't. It takes supplies to make stuff and it takes money to get supplies. This is where my complaint comes in... or rather, my dilemma. Where can you get things to make stuff (wood, glues/epoxy, other such supplies that you can use to make craft projects...) besides DI. I need to know places that are cheap (and by cheap, I mean as close to free as you can possibly get).
I have caught a crafting bug. Wanna see some of the blogs I've been looking at and getting ideas from?

These are just a few of them and I have fallen in love with some of the things I have seen on here!
I used to dislike "crafty" houses. I thought they were all to "kitchy", but since moving into our own place again, I have changed my mind. I LOVE CRAFTS! (to a certain extent... i still don't want my house overrun by nick knacks.)
I am going to try to get all of our stuff organized too. We have a relatively small space, so we can use all the organization we can get!!!
If you have any great ideas, let me know!

The Doctor
So, I had to visit the doctor yesterday.
Nothing serious.
I made an appointment for my annual with a new OB/Gyn and had an issue that I needed to have checked out.
And now, after 3 months of continual bleeding (vaginal) I am finally over it. Hopefully this means my cycles will become "regular" again. Not ovulating sucks.
(I know... TMI.)
The good news is she said that aside from a VERY slight yeast infection, everything is normal. No problems.
Lana, Alida and I went for a bike ride yesterday. It felt GREAT! I think we're gonna have to try it again. I have to admit, I stopped working out regularly after about a month and a half. I had been biking every day with Alida on the bike with me. It was about 6 miles a day, which was a TON for me! I hadn't really been trying very hard before that. I had also started cooking meals for us here at home... healthy meals. We haven't had fast food for a LONG TIME! Anyway, what with eating healthy and biking 6 miles a day, you'd think I'd have lost at least SOME weight... nope. None. Not one pound was lost. It was aggravating. So I got depressed and then kinda gave up. We still went riding occasionally and we went swimming (if the pool was open), but I stopped trying to lose weight.
Now I think I need to start trying again.
Anthony is seriously thinking about school still, though we haven't decided when to put him in.
Alida is reading (sort of). She loves The Cat in the Hat. It is her favorite! (she is reading it right now, as I type, and she's almost perfect!) That has to be the CUTEST book in creation! Alida does the voices and everything! (So does Anthony, which is another reason it is the cutest book in creation.)
That's about it for now. ^_^

Yesterday
We had to take a friend of mine home yesterday that lives in Spanish Fork, so we stopped by Meemaw's house for a visit. We stayed for dinner and ended up having an impromptu unbirthday party for Alida. She loved it! Anthony has the video so I will have to wait until he gets home before I am able to upload it, but she has been on about her "party" all day today. She keeps asking where her cake is and when her party is. I keep telling her we'll have another "party" soon... so now I'm debating whether or not I'll throw a Halloween party. I used to do one every year (for like, 3 years) but had to not do one last year because of where we were living... and so this year, I may want to resurrect the tradition.
I am throwing a baby shower for my sister next month, so perhaps we will see how that goes and then decide whether or not I want to throw a Halloween party. (I mean, I KNOW I do, but I'll worry about the shower first...)
Tee hee... Alida just told me she wants to "do a Halloween party. I'll go get my bucket and we'll do a Halloween party!" Then she came running out with her trick or treating bucket and said "where's my Halloween party mom?"
I LOVE having a 3 year old! She is so funny to listen to.
Keep watching... I'll let you know whether or not we'll be doing a Halloween party.

Already August!?
I have been having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that it's already mid-August. It's crazy to think about. Another year already more than half over and I haven't posted anything since January. BOY have I been slacking!!!
Here is the rundown for the last 8.5 months (give or take):
Anthony turned 27 in March. He says he doesn't feel any older. lol He certainly acts like it. He also got officially hired on with NAPA Auto Parts in June and he loves his job. He is a delivery driver.
Alida turned 3 in July, though she keeps telling everyone she's 5. That's the true sign of a woman... lying about her age before she can even count!!! (just kidding, she can count to 17, minus 1 and 2. lol) We have been working on some homeschooling starter things with Alida. We work on colors, shapes, numbers, letters and we sing songs. She loves nursery and often times, she is the one that reminds us about church. She loves going!
I turned 26 at the end of July, though I don't feel 26. I find myself becoming nostalgic lately. I miss a lot of things and people.
We moved up to Salt Lake with the help of my sister, Michelle, and her wonderful husband Brian. After about 3 months living with them, we were finally able to move into our own apartment up here and have been here for about 6 months now. It's a great little 2 bedroom apartment in Salt Lake on Redwood Road. We live just south of the Salt Lake/Davis County border.
Alida and I like to go out swimming in the community pool a lot, though I must admit, we don't do it as much as I'd like to be.
Now we are looking at getting Anthony into school for his degree in... (I'm not gonna tell. It's a surprise).
One of my childhood friends is going to be coming up and staying with us for a while in a couple of days. That should prove interesting.
We are all in great health and we are enjoying our new surroundings, though I admit, I get homesick occasionally. I find that I miss the quietness of Spanish Fork. Salt Lake is a loud, busy place, but it's not bad.
I will be posting pictures of us taken just a week ago... so they are current. I hope you enjoy them!
I will be trying to keep up with my blog. I guess I had just pushed it out of my mind.
We love you all and hope that everyone is doing well!

Shame on me
Ok, I know... It's been almost a year since I last posted.
It hasn't been one of those years that you want to share with others.
We are still trying to recover but we'll make it.
Lemme post some pics and update you.
Alida is 2 1/2 now. Her hair has sprouted and it's as curly as her dad's.
She is a bit of a bully but Daphne is competition. They both try to out bully each other. They can be good friends too, if they want to.
I am currently embarking on a weightloss journey. My goal is to lose 39 lbs by the end of the year (something I'm hoping and trying to accomplish in 6 months instead).
You can follow my journey at http://pushitwithme.blogspot.com
Anthony is currently looking for a full time job and he is working temporarily at Cream O' Weber. They can't hire him because my sister is in upper management.
We are also living in North Salt Lake and we are hoping that we will be able to get Anthony a job soon so we can get our own apartment soon. I think we are all anxious for our own space again, though we are grateful for all the help we are being given.
I will TRY to post things more on this blog. I know I haven't been very steady with it. I will TRY!

A note to readers
I haven't been updating as often as I'd like to be. I find that I just don't take the time to do it.
I will try to be better but no guarantees.
Keep watching for fun photos and videos (and if I can't post videos here, links to them).
We love sharing our lives with you!
