Alida's new talent

Alida Dawn has learned that she can climb on
and in certain containers... toy chests, shelves... and
laundry baskets! She can also climb on them to get up to
where she wants to be!

Baking with mommy

Alida is mommy's special helper in the kitchen!
I baked a cake recently and Alida helped a lot!She taste tested the chocolate chips....

And I think she enjoyed it...

And she licked the whisk...

And the spoon!

But I licked out the bowl! How could I resist!?!
She looked like she enjoyed it so much!
Don't you agree?!?!!

Fiesta Days

Alida and I have taken to taking 2 mile walks around town lately.

On the 24th of July, it's Pioneer Day in Utah and here in Spanish Fork,
we celebrate with Fiesta Days. Alida and I walked down to
Main Street from our apartment and walked through the sidewalk sales
and the festival on center street. We didn't go ride the rides at the carnival...

but Alida got to try on hats at one of the vendors!!!

Nap time

Alida has found recently that it is easy to take naps
in her play pen. We'll be watching a movie and out of the blue,
we'll realize that it's silent, and this is usually what we find.

And you'll always find her bottle close by. lol

A family Hike

Recently, Anthony, Alida and I went on a hike up
Payson Canyon to a little place called The Grotto.
It was Alida's First hike with Mommy and Daddy!She didn't quite know what to think about the
waterfall... but seemed to like the noise

but still couldn't figure out where the water was coming from
or why we wouldn't let her go play in it.
(it was ice cold!)

but she wouldn't believe us... so we had to show her for herself.

I think she enjoyed the day! ^_^

And so did we!

A big girl

Now that Alida is a big girl, we decided to treat her like a big girl.
So we put her in the front seat...Buckled her in...

And just like the big girl that she is...
she couldn't wait to get out of the seat belt!!!

But don't worry, we didn't actually go anywhere and she
never actually rode in the car like this. ^_^
The car was off the whole time.

Birthday fun!!!

Alida Dawn had her first birthday on the 14th!
For dinner, we ate at Barry's in SF...She DEFINATELY enjoyed eating her cake...

and sharing it...

And wearing it!!!

And this is what it looked like before Alida got to it.

Alida is a really good helper!
She helped us pick our new furniture...She kept an eye on our cookies while we unpacked...

She made sure the stroller was where it belonged...

Made sure the TV didn't walk away...
(and she got a bonus of getting to watch the muppets...)

And she had the most important job of
bear sitting while I cleaned the family room.

Isn't she a good helper?!? :)

Fun & Games

Alida loves to play games....

And when she gets thirsty,
doesn't have to go far!

Alida loves to go over to Gammy and Bapa's house.

And sometimes she get's to do special things like ride
Uncle Ken's bike!!!
