An update

Hey! Merry Christmas to EVERYONE!
Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. Things have been hectic.
For now, We're all in North Salt Lake with My sister and her family while Anthony works a temporary job at Cream O' Weber. We're really grateful that we were given this opportunity! (Thanks Michelle! ^_^)
Alida went to nursery today in Michelle and Brian's ward. She wasn't too fond of it once she found out that mommy and daddy had left her there! She spent most of the time sitting on someone's lap or being held (standing up, of course! She'd have it no other way!) She did, however, recover and managed to colour a picture and when I went to pick her up, she was playing ring around the rosey with the other kids. It was adorible... of course, one look at mommy put an end to that.
She hasn't been sleeping well this week. I think it's being in a strange place and in a strange "bed". (I say bed that way because she's actually sleeping in their play pen.)
Just a warning, it may be a couple of weeks until I'm able to post again. Our computer is broken for the moment and we need to take it in to get it repaired... so no internet access.

And Mary was (I assume) Maid Marian (lol... ironic... Marylynn was Marian) and her boyfriend was Robin Hood.

Things that go bump in the night

Everyone at the party had such fun costumes!
Richard dressed as Onslow.
Matt was dressed as... um.... Matt. :)
Josie's brother's were dressed as grimm reapers.
JayDee was the Tom Baker Dr. Who and Ariel was a witch.
And I told Erin and Ryan that they looked like Aztec Basketball players (with the pumpkin they walked in with.)

And the beat goes on...

The evening started out with some pumpkin carving. It was fun to see what people came up with! We followed that with dinner... potluck... we had some REALLY good food brought! Thanks to everyone that contributed!
We had some more pumpkin fun for some group photos.

But when the lights go out....

Alida and Daphne switched rolls... Daphne started out as a pumpkin... but Alida TURNED INTO ONE!!! She is also seen here with Mick Jagger... oh, I mean long john Meemah!!!!

As Promised... Halloween

Ok, so, it's been... like, a week now since Halloween and I am now getting the pictures from our annual party up... as promised. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them!!!
We'll start with some before pictures taken before the party. ^_^
First up is a picture of my Niece, Daphne... while she was a "pumpkin"... I had to wait for her fairie mommy to turn her into a fairy Princess! ^_^

A couple of posts ago, a friend of mine (Diane) wanted to see Alida's smile cause I said I think she smiles like me, So I posted a couple of pictures of Alida giving me her "cheesy" grin. Diane then commented that she'd forgotten what I look like when I smile, so here is my smile pictures... also, one of Anthony that I found with his "cheesy" grin, so I suppose it could be a toss up... which one of us she looks like.

Shari's BIG news!

This Tuesday, October 7th, 2008, Prestige Salon and Spa (who I work for) is FINALLY opening!!! We are open Tuesdays-Fridays 9am-8pm and Saturdays 8am-5pm.
It's not our GRAND opening, since the hair stations won't be arriving until mid-November, but everything else excluding hair will be opening this tuesday!!!
I hope everyone will come at some point to say hi to me and to see what we offer! I am UBER excited about this (since I was hired in April and we're only NOW opening!).
If anyone is interested, we are going to be a full service salon/spa. We offer Massage therapy, anything hair (once we get the stations), nails, waxing, lazer hair removal, teeth whitening, tanning, botox (and possibly lipo-dissolve) permanent makeup, makeup artists (for application of makeup) as well as makeup classes... and more. And each one of these categories has sub-categories! We offer LOTS of stuff, so come on in and check it out! (I won't make you do/buy anything. lol! Just come see me!)

Ok, so my friend, Diane, says that Alida looks like Anthony and I agree with her... except for Alida's smile. I think she TOTALLY smiles like me. Here's the smile I'm talking about:



Whether she looks like me or not, she has a smile that makes me melt!

Swimming

We went with Meemaw and Aunt Meeka and the kids and Mickey & Cherine and Michael and Abby to the Spanish Fork Reservoir and we went swimming! Alida loved it. She even "dove" in herself a couple of times. (well, ok, she fell. ^_^)
She loved the water and the gravel. She brought most of the gravel home in her diaper!!! It was MUCH nicer being there today than the last time we went there since the sun was out today ^_^

Fall Photos

Alida Dawn Got some new fall photos taken today!
She looked like a doll in the orange dress that Meemaw made her!!!
and she LOVED those little pumpkin candles. She wouldn't put them down even to pick up one of the bigger pumpkins. ^_^

A new blog

Ok, so I have created another blog. This one has an explanation for the first post.
Go take a look. It is a "blog-if-you're-interested" blog. Nothing related to our family or anything, but I thought it was a good idea, even if no one else does. ^_^

Am I nuts?

Today, Alida was eating her lunch in the high chair and after she had eaten her lunch, we gave her an Oreo to munch on. This resulted in a chocolatey mess all over our little mess-maker!
We had errands to run and needed to clean her up quickly with as little screaming as possible, so we decided to clean her off in a fun way. (well, I thought it was fun and I didn't hear Alida complaining!)

A SINK BATH!!!!

Like I said, I didn't hear Alida complaining ^_^

I had been using the sprayer to wash her hair and rinse off soap,
so I kept the water running slowly in the other side of the sink.
Alida always tries to catch and drink the water coming from the tap...

... And I don't know if she actually got any, but every once in a while,
she would stop trying to catch the water and instead,
would suck on her hand.

I had fun giving her the sink bath and it was a nice break from the normal
tub bath and, call me crazy, but I honestly think this way is WAY easier than
putting her in the tub. (sometimes!)

Construction as usual

So, upon moving into our apartment, there was construction right in front of the apartment.
They were working on those roads for the first couple of weeks we lived here. During the construction, they had to take down the fence on our side of the yard... here it is, 2 months later, and they still haven't put the fence back up. Then, yesterday, they started doing construction AGAIN right in front of our apartment. It's loud and it shakes the walls.
Alida gets a kick out of all the machinery though. She points and smiles and squeels. She does the same thing with passing cars. It's the funniest thing to watch!
So, while Anthony and I are getting sick of the construction and not having a complete fence, Alida gets a kick out of it when we take her outside to play!

Sorry, Alida, Anthony and I are watching Sesame Street. It's an alphabet special that we checked out from the library. Alida likes it and Anthony and I are glad to have a break from The Muppet Show!!! ^_^

Playing in the Yard

Alida is one tough cookie! Spanish Fork City has not yet put back
up our fence, so there are posts with concrete on the bottoms strewn
around our lawn. Alida was out playing with the poles the other day.
She is tough for her size!!!
